uPVC Frames
uPVC frames are basically maintenance free although like everything they will probably need a clean from time to time to remove atmospheric grime.
Never use anything abrasive on uPVC frames. We recommended you only use a mix of warm water and a soft cleaner such as fairy washing up liquid. Use a soft cloth to wipe your frames down.
Beware some harsh detergents such as CIF can scratch the surface of uPVC frames and using over a long period of time could cause damage to as uPVC frame.
Doors
We recommend uPVC doors are kept in the locked position (By throwing the handle upwards). This helps to keep the doors and the door seals tight at all times.
Locks & Hinges
We recommend all locks & hinges (all moving parts) are sprayed with a lubricant such as WD40 at least twice a year to keep the parts working perfectly for years to come.
Glass
Most high street brand glass cleaners do a perfectly good job of cleaning glass products.
Building work
As with any new building work, a period of ‘drying out’, is necessary. Please ensure maximum air circulation and ventilation during this time to assist the process.
ALWAYS:
- Regularly clean the window pane and PVC-U surrounds with a clear liquid spray proprietary glass cleaner.
- Twice a year, wash down the PVC-U with warm soapy water and wipe dry.
NEVER:
- Do not paint PVC-U window frames.
- Avoid all paste and cream cleaners, which can be mildly abrasive.
- Never use any type of bleach, solvent or adhesive.
